Story: Scott A. Bachmann | Art: Scott D.M. Simmons
A few minor changes from script to page, but pretty close. The point of this page to bring home that Leon the famous writer is upstaged by his more famous wife, and that she’s clueless about it. People that had read the script suggested to me she should land in an alley and change, but I wanted this to be a mistake on Liza’s part. People aren’t perfect.
We spent some time getting the Chicago store front architecture right, even though it’s all made up. I love the look of Chicago.
I like Simmons line art on this page. More distinction in line weight, and nice use of blacks. I LOVE the detail he got in the bookstore. He managed to fill the store window AND show Leon at the table. I don’t know how he does it.
